What is the difference between how the "two texts collide, align or mirror each other in a certain aspect" versus how the "two texts explore common issues, etc"?

Arent they just both synonymous versions of "What is similar and what is different between their presentation of ideas?"

Pretty much the same thing, but statement #2 is referring more to the textual structure/form of the texts and how the later text interacts with the earlier text through changes in form, whereas statement #3 is referring more to the themes/values discussed in the texts and how these themes are representative of larger societal values of the environment in which the author is writing.
