I am currently doing 13 units but would rather do 11. I am having trouble deciding whether to drop SDD or Geography.
My rank in preliminary SDD was 1st and Geography was 3rd. There is pretty much no competition in SDD whilst the top end of the geography class is quite competent. Can anyone help me in my decision? Thanks in advance.

My subjects for yr 12 are:
Advanced English
Extension 2 Maths
Chemistry
SDD
Geography
SOR I

hmmm that doesn't really help much. Anyone have any ideas of the scaling of geography compared to SDD?

Geography has a better scaling (slightly). But it's better to weigh out both the advantages and the disadvantages in sticking to each subject. I cannot really say this one is better or that one is better because I don't do any.

yeah, definitely.

To be honest, most of subjects probably scale better than ipt.

Geography scaled better than SDD last year, dunno about other year
for SDD, in year 12 you're gonna have a big project to do, I think that might be the same for Geography though.
more improtantly but, you need some programming knowledge to complete your year 12 SDD major project, so if you dont like/arn't good at programming drop SDD

on the other hand, if you think you'd do better doing some Geography research project (I assume?) then do Geography?
weigh up which one will take up more of your time, you're aim is to have more time for other subjects isnt it? and since you're doing well in both, it shouldn't be too hard to decide. maybe you should reconsider your decision next year, in my opinion its too early to think of it at your current position

90 aligned mark in IPT would be approximately around 79-80 scaled marks.
