hey guys

i just got an email from ebay

heres what it says:

We are currently performing regular maintenance of our security measures.
Your account has been selected for this maintenance.

Protecting the security of your eBay auction account is our primary concern,
and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Comments are welcomed!

In order to update your account information, you need to complete the following process!
If not, your account may behave unnormally and errors may occur without notification.

and it asks for username and id, and password...plus name and address blah blah blah blah

the email address is from aw-confirm@ebay.com which is a true ebay address thingy...

but i dunno, i just feel iffy about the whole thing... coz they should never ask for passwords and stuff yeah?

what should i do?

cheers.

na, actually, on second thoughts, i wouldn't do that: coz it'll show the spammer, that your e-mail address is a valid and active one: and hence he'll send u more spam!

If you check your mail from hotmail you can try to turn on a setting which shows where the e-mail came from, a specific DNS or what so ever, because there actually is quite a flaw in the e-mailing system, my application i developed entitles users to enter a custom e-mail address, for example you can use my e-mail address as the sender and send e-mails to other, and for simple users they might be tricked easily.
