i just wanted to know from past students who've done this subject, which textbook they used and which one was more useful? gruber or abelson, or did u need to use any textbook at all? the lecturer kinda confused me coz he was likee "now im not saying u need to buy any textbook at all, but gruber is useful so buy it but abelson is better with principles so u can buy 1 or both but im not implying u need to buy anyhting but buy it" or somehting like that lol...
also any other advice/hints on this subject? do we need to go to lectures etc :S since this subject has a 50% failure rate, im sure i could use advice etc :S

I got Gruber for my textbook, but theres 3 copies of abelson in the reserve,

In the unit outline theres a list of prescribed readings, for the weeks and topics, Gruber or Abelson or both.....
