Did you just say THE PIANO!!!! AHHHH...farout the scene where the "guy" chops of Ada's finger was gruesome man:eek:...and the random sex scenes.:bomb:..but overall it's awesome alright, otherwise it wouldn't have been selected as an HSC English material, right?

Advanced: The topic of 'fear', studying The Crucible :)
Ext 1: Romanticism and the Gothic genre, studying Frankenstein.

They're really great topics, although I would have loved to have done 'change' in advanced :(

We're reconstructing fairy tales in ext.

In advanced we have to choose 4 texts (ON CHANGE) and do a speech on them. They can't be the same type of text though, so I have a book (So Much To Tell You - John Marsden), a song ( American Pie - Don Mclean), a movie (if you'd call it that - Harvie Krumpet) and i desperatly need a fourth one.

Any ideas? A poem, short story, speech, newspaper article or something? I am at a complete loss and the progress report is already due!

Advanced: Judith Wright Poems and Changing Perspectives
So for that, we have a written speech due with two texts from Judith Wright, one given text: Sky High or The Door and two related texts we have to find ourselves.
Ext: Fairytales for year 11, with a speech due in second term and we were told for year 12, we will be studying Crime Fiction.:)

Crap. Crap crap crap. Possibly worst area and text ever. Terrible.

Eng Ext
Area of Study:
Fairy tales.
Key Texts:
Cinderella, Snow White, Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood.
Opinions:
Best. Topic. Ever. Great texts, great opportunity to use the word "cinderfella".

PS: Hansel and Gretel deserve to DIE.

No-one seems to be doing Authority and the Individual... for Eng. Adv.

Read Fahrenheit 451. Read Whose Life is it Anyway?... Done a few poems... Currently watching The Shawshank Redemption...

Nice stuff.

Just moved over to Reportage:

Started reading Hiroshima... Reading the Crucible next...

Nonetheless. We've got a HUGE workload, evil private school. "Must finish prelim. by the end of Term 2 and move over to the HSC in Term 3.."

And, yes, we're in year 10!!!
