i had an assessment in ACTL1101 that had weighting of 15%...i failed the test and i am very disappointed with my result...it was a hard test but i didnt expect to fail (got 42%)...im confident of passing the subject though..i really wanna do this subject but will this result affect my career prospects?

if i manage to complete the course but with a mediocre mark (55-65), does that mean i wont be able to get a good job?? i am doing fairly well in the other three subjects though..

Advice needed guys, please help

Thanks

You can make up for it within the next few years. Come on, it's just one subject. Don't let yourself down with the other subjects. Make sure you do well in them, particularly ECON1101 and FINS1613 (both of them count towards exemptions).

yeah those subjects are comparatively easy...the test had so many things i completely ignored! i am just concerned that even if i manage to get like 55-60 at the end of sem, it will be as good as nothing since people have told me to get as many C+, Ds as possible

It's not a detrimental as you think, failing a second year ACTL subject has wayyyy more consequences.

It's only 15%, don't cry over it too much, make sure you go through the test and learn from your mistakes to avoid repeating them.

Consider going to PASS classes to strengthen your understanding of the concepts

I'm not sure about this year's coz maybe ACTL1101 could count for exemptions. However, I do know that the 1st year subs below count for exemptions:

ACTL1122 or ACCT1501+ACCT1511
ECON1101
ECON1102
FINS1613

For exemptions, you need an average of 65 corresponding to the CT courses. In the 2013 handbook I checked and they didn't give details as to what courses count/weighting for exemptions and so forth.
