hey can soemone give me the rundown on how to write a feature article - layout and language mainly.

IIRC, you need a title, byline, maybe a date... you might want to divide it into columns to make it look neat. The language depends on the target audience. :)

Don't divide it into columns...EVER!
I divided a feature article into two columns for an Extension English assessment and I got full marks for structure. So, I suppose it depends on the teacher?

Well, by 'structure', I'm guessing they marked it on a paragraph - paragraph basis rather than the physical layout of the article.

Seriously, it's pointless to rule a margin down the middle and write down half a page. Anyway, I guess it might depend on your teacher, but any competent English teacher wouldn't care how you set it out. Why waste the time?
