Well, in my class of 23, we have 10 girls.
Provided with the fact that only about 30 - 40% of the grade are girls, that's actually quite a lot.
There's also another 4u class at my school, though I dunno whether they have this many girls or not...

Nope, we have a relatively small school and only 8 guys do it.
I don't think any of the girls would even consider it!

Our school has 2 people doing extension 2, both guys. Extension 1 has 21 people I think, and 5 of them are girls, though two of them are close to top and could have handled extension 2 IMO and teachers.

13 of these ppl are international students..
14 are asian..

i must say the girls are mostly killing it... most of the guys suck, there is a few good ones.

Well in our school, the best all rounder is a girl and an Asian (meaning she's in the top in Ext. 2 maths too of course). In our Ext. 2 class, the top 2 students are both female and atleast 1/2 our class are girls.
Shame to the guys. :(

I can't find them currently, but the BoS publishes statistics for each subject, and one such stat is how many girls and boys do each subject.

IIRC, many girls in fact do ME2.

Bah. Where'd you get that? Thanks.

From that, 2128 males did ME2 in 2004, and 1386 females.

The gap is not as large as might be expected, which is very good.

our class has 4 girls, (2 of whom are Asian and barely speak any English), the rest are guys (4 asian, 4 caucasian). everyone does quite well without any obvious stand-alones, apart from the 12 year old boy.

I go to an all-boys school:
A few weeks ago, 7 out of 9 of us were Asian, then one Asian dropped a week ago so now 75% of my class is Asian :)

i wonder if there are any statistics out there about how the performance varies between boys and girls.
has a girl ever come first?
do many girls get in the top 10/20?
