Its perfect for imaginative journey.,

Daniel By Lior
From the album ‘Autumn Flow’

Lyrics:
Stepping into a doorway in my mind
This is where you live
I forgot the things that I could find
Haven’t been in here for years
I climb the stairs that hide beneath the vines
I walk through the overgrowth of time
Up to where we sat in clouds of smoke
Up to when we swam in pools of hope

And all the while
I’m looking for your half smile
Or something that will show me that you are still around
All the while
I’m looking for your half smile
Or something that will show me that you still know me
You still know me

Further on the pavement starts to crack
This is where we fell
Where smoke turns to hate I hesitate
And I choose to leave the way I came
Outside it’s overcast and vision’s hard to find
But the memories will be my guide
Coz even though I know our skins have changed
Colours that we shared
They still remain

And all the while….

Stepping into a doorway in my mind
This is where you live.. Daniel

Notes from Lior:

Daniel represents an inner journey of memories. It tells the story of a
faded friendship.....an exploration into the "doorways of the mind" that
lead to the place where the emotions and experiences of the friendship have
been captured."
Daniel is about a relationship that existed in another time and place. While
seeming insignificant on a day to day level, it is found to be an integral
one, through an inner journey of re-discovery.

Specifically, it is about a very close friend at a formative time of growing
up (end of high school era), a time when you generally believe that these
close friendships are going to last forever.

With this particular friend, we drifted apart......and a number of years
later i ran into him and got a strange and awkward sense of familiarity. The
meeting brought back so much detail and a realisation of how formative that
relationship really was.

The lyrics reflect the inner journey into that little place in my mind
that he managed to carve, and an affirmation that while we were standing in
front of each other as strangers today, we still knew the essence of each
other

Thanks for this, I'll be using this in my inner journeys essay.

The parallels to the french prisoner are most piquant.
