BrO3- + H+ + SO2 --> Br- + SO42-
a) Calculate and show oxidation numbers to determine which species has been oxidised and which has been reduced.
Br(+5)O(-2)3- + H(+1)+ + S(+4)O(-2)2 --> Br(-1)- + S(+6)O(-2)42-
Oxidised - S
Reduced - Br
