hey i'm in more trouble here! i can't even do 2 unit perms & combs!
in my trials, i didn't attempt any of my probability questions (that's how bad i'm at them!)

I hate 4u altogether! EVERYTHING is hard! All the freakin topics! :mad1:
yeah, me too - i really dunno why i chose 4u in the first place...

REALLY, REALLY regret it!

Have to think about it a bit sometimes, wouldn't want to count the number of payments wrongly and embarrass myself like I did a whiule back :0. But that's more of a worry in 3U, can't see that happening in 4U. Maybe an analysis of HIH finances....maybe that's creative writing :D

after finally finishing the course (2,3 and 4), i reckon the hardest is harder Ext 1 (in particular dodgy proofs, general probability or binomial theorem) and mechanics

it all changes from person to person, i think on average...

Harder 3u is the worst

complex, graphing, & integration are giveaway marks

personally, im killing mechanics but suck at conics

Definitely Harder 3U - in particular inequalities (which I just make up as I go along) and induction (ditto). Also Conics are a pain - I can do them, but I get so frustrated and you can end up on the completely wrong track and stay on it for half an hour without knowing. Easiest (not to say that they're easy...) are Integration, Graphs, Mechanics (particularly resisted motion - it's just applied integration).... volumes are easy if they're straight forward - but 3D co-ordinate geometry is a bitch!!

If I had to rank the topics from easiest to hardest, I'd put them in this order:

1. Complex numbers [easiest]
2. Graphs
3. Integration
4. Volumes
5. Polynomials
6. Mechanics
7. Conics
8. Harder 3U [hardest]

whats an example??
maybe:

(a + b + c + d) / 4 = 4throot (abcd)

for harmonics , i don;t know?

Sorry.

Q PROVE (a + b + c + d) / 4 >= 4throot (abcd)

Answer
Using (x+y)/2 >= sqrroot (xy)

let x = a + b
let y = c + d

so (a + b + c + d)/2 >= sqrt [(a + b)(c + d)]
>= sqrt [2sqrt(ab).2sqrt(cd)]
>= sqrt [4 sqrt(abcd)]
>= 2 4throot (abcd)

so a + b + c + d) / 4 >= 4throot (abcd)

does that make sense?

You should be able to derive most of them from what you observe in (a simplified form of) the question...

"Using (x+y)/2 >= sqrroot (xy) "

are we supposed to just know that!?

where does the arithmetic,/geometric part come into it?

i hate em, they are one of those things where if u dont know how to start u cant do em, like u cant really work your way through em

can u ever solve it working backwards from the answer?
is that easier?

yes, its just the AM/GM thing with a and b replaced with x and y.

No, backwards is HELL :evilfire:
