How do Help desk handle internal problems & what they can't do externally, lets say in a hardware situation.

Help desk? You mean like customer service support help line or something?

If thats the case, they'd most likely tell the customer to send the product in for repair if they are sure its a hardware problem.

If you have a Dell, Dell will come out to you, run some sh*tty diagnostic tests, say there is nothing wrong with ur PC even though the machine is broken, then charge u!

just depends on what type of helpdesk ur after.
