I tend to think of Rudd as more of a populist, actually.

He was raised Roman Catholic and is a practicing Anglican (though I think that's more his wife's influence).

EDIT: A pretty telling comment from him in an essay he wrote in The Monthly:

A [truly] Christian perspective on contemporary policy debates may not prevail. It must nonetheless be argued. And once heard, it must be weighed, together with other arguments from different philosophical traditions, in a fully contestable secular polity. If axe-murderers are allowed to get married and have a child purely due to the fact they like members of the opposite sex; gay persons should be able to marry also.

I'm not saying all straight people are bad and all gay persons are good, but I think that the majority of the gay populus are entitled to commit to marriage if they truly love each other.

I think everyone is entitled to their opinions, but what if someone you cared about was homosexual? perhaps one of your children? I bet you'd either outcast them or try and "get them help". Its not a sickness that can be fixed, and its not un-natural either, homosexuality has occurred throughout all of human (and animal) history. Its normal, weither or not homosexuality is something you are comfortable with is a different matter, and thats your problem not theirs. Your clearly a very selfish person. We all have rights.

Not believing in God does not equate to a belief in 'nothing'...it simply represents a personal choice, just as believing in God does. Many people who aren't religious have very strong beliefs. Iron, I'm sorry, but you seem to be under the impression that everyone who doesn't agree with you isn't worth your trouble, and I pity you for that, because it means you're in for a very lonely time.
