Hi. Sounds like Spyware might be clogging your browser to the extent you can't load hotmail. In Internet Explorer, please go to Tools -> Internet Options.

Under 'Temporary Internet Files', click 'Delete Files'. Once this is done:

# Please download Lavasoft Adaware.
# Install it, check for updates, and do a full system scan. Quarantine anything found.

# Download and perform a scan with SpyBot.

# Download HijackThis.
# Click Scan.
# Click Save Log.
# Either paste the contents of the log into a post here, or attach the log file for us to have a look at.

I know it sounds like a lot, but cleaning your system is well worth the time - it'll run smoother and if you do have a lot of Spyware running, will give you your Internet freedom back.

If you can, please switch to Mozilla Firefox instead of Internet Explorer. It's much, much safer, you will contract less Spyware, and has some nice popup blocking built into it - plus it's free.

Kind Regards,

Med

spyware will clog your system bad, but i haven't herd of spyware stopping access to logging in to msn...I can't say that this is fully true, but unlikely.

Try logging in to your hotmail somewhere else, like school or library, to see if there is a problem with your computer or quite possibly, with hotmail.

If the problem is the latter, then all you can really do is contact hotmail. Its worth a shoot, but last time I emailed anything to do with Microsoft, I think they read like two lines of my email and answered some off topic solution.

If it is yours, probably spyware; Just try MedNez's solution, and maybe also try out Spybot s&d www.safer-networking.org , its another spyware remover thats really good.

Sometimes when something is eating my bandwidth - usually a torrent - it'll only load parts of hotmail, like the ads :(

So, give cleaning your system a go, it might work wonders.

you can try deleting O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{D1EAB40E-DA0B-4560-8D5C-91D717E010A6}: NameServer = 203.49.70.92 139.134.2.190
and then restart

see if hotmail works in firefox

Yep. Tick the entry mojako suggested, close any Internet Explorer / Folder windows and hit fix checked. Then try and access hotmail, and if it doesn't work, try through Firefox.

Just on a note of interest for you, Cab31, after you visit the site mentioned, and install Firefox, you can still keep all your favourites etc, the program is just much more safer.

When you install it will ask where you want to import settings from. Choose Internet Explorer.
