It depends what school you are going to. If you went to James Ruse, for example you are extremly likely to get over 90, but in some schools the dux doesnt even get 90.

What school do you go to or what are they ranked

What rank is that, sorry? I have no idea...
I think it's like 122 or 126.

I reckon 90+ UAI is likely.

Your school is ranked 130th.

Interesting... that rank in your school should get 90

Break the top 3 barrier for everything and 90+ should be simple.

But to answer your question, 90+ only required a genuine solid effort, you don't need to be intelligent to get 90+.

Yeah I was going to say if you can't get 90+ with a genuine effort, you must be stupid - but didnt want to offend people.

Oops.

Mostly agreed with.

Just make sure you know your content. And play the game. ;)

If you were aiming for a 99.9+ UAI, that would be a different story.

I got a UAI of 91.30 and i put heaps of effort in. But unfortunately a lot of my exams were based on memory.

Yep, past HSc'ers have always told me

90 - 95 = learning ur content
95 - 98 = mastering it
98 - 100 = natural talent and mastering it

It seems to me that my UAI limit is 98 if not 95. :(

I'd say that 98+ sometimes requires luck, as stupid mistakes can make or break the barrier.

Thanks. Now I can see my 98 UAI limit suddenly shattered into pieces. I have tonnes of luck.

I'd say not. Stupid mistakes have nothing to do with luck.

I really disagree with this, and so did my HSC Chem teacher.

My opinion: If you just learn your content.. then you should get about 80UAI. If you master it then you should get 90-97. If you study the right kinds of things then you should get 97+.

Obviously it's all a matter of your perception. I find 90+ really easy, so did all my mates barely did any work but was able to get it.
