What would a 75% get scaled too in physics?

75% in chem?

60% in ext. maths?

Thanks,

so 'scaled' is the actual mark

I think we are confusing scaling with aligning.

I think OP is talking about aligning, which is the "scaling" of raw marks in accordance to a set standard within the subject. In this case, 75% in Chem would probably be aligned to around 90, and a 60% in MX1 would probably be aligned to 43/50. 60% in MX2 would probably be aligned to around 90.

Phys - ~91

Chem - 91-92 (74% was 91 in 2011, but 71% with industrial chem was 91)

Extension One - ~86-88

Extension Two - ~89

Your school rank from last year will have no effect on the aligning or scaling or moderating of the marks this year. After all that is done your school will be re-ranked based on your cohort's results.

Internal options scale differently so that they are able to be equitable across the paper. It would be unfair if one option was harder than another so the marks were lower for that option so all options are internally scaled to the core for all exams - sometimes a little, sometimes more and sometimes not at all. It is all about having a fair paper for all students.
