I compared the scaling for japanese extension and chemistry

and obviously japanese extension is a lot higher

im aiming for E4 in jap ext say 45.. and only a band 5 for chemistry ie. 85-88 ish

Currently doing

English advanced -2
Japanese continuers -2
Japanese extension -1
3U maths -2
4u Maths -2
Chemistry -2
Korean continuers -2(same or better than chemistry scaling)

So 13 units total.
im planning to not count korean because it was originally my chemistry backup

but what i am planning to count is

Eng (2units) (dur)
Jap (3units)
4u -3u (4units)

&count chemistry as half so 1unit wise

but when i put my results

eng 90
jap 95
jap 3u - 45
3u - 45 (90 since its 2unit count)
4u - 40(80 since its 2unit count)
chem - 85

the japanese extension doesnt count but chemistry takes up the 2units..

japanese extension is one of the top 10 scaling topics and if i put 80 as my chem mark then it counts japanese ext..

anyone else having that problem??

Well not having that problem too much but i dont think sam does what they do in the hsc...sam only counts best ten units for subjects not 1 unit courses if u have an odd number...in hsc if ur marks are

subject a (2 unit course)-80
subject b (2 unit course)-80
subject c (2 unit course)-80
subject d (2 unit course)-80
subject e (2 unit course)-60
subject g (1 unit course)-40

then obviously a, b, c.d will be counted, g will be and 1 unit so (30/50) for e will be counted...

that is what has been explained to me so that is what i am assuming dont know if that is correct but hope it helps u somehow
