I contacted UTS and they said I can't take a leave of absence from UTS if I'm studying at another Australian university.

Will they know if I do it anyway? lol

by deferring do you mean leave of absence?

if you mean defer as in before i start... i have already done 2 years of my degree. now i want to transfer to another univeristy but there is a chance i will get excluded from a key component so i want uts to be my safety net so i can run back to it if it doesn't work out

Why dont you just do say 2 subjects at each uni?

Or 3 subjects at one uni and 1 at the other.

You therefore arent taking a leave of absence.
The 3 subject option is better I think because it saves your student concession privileges.

By deferring ur studies at UTS, your putting your course on hold and u can defer it for up to 2 years I think, and your place is still safe at the uni. There is a leave of absence form and a deferral one so its ur choice in how u go about ur situation, personally i would defer. Im doing a biomedical science degree and I would have preferred to do a health science degree so I get where ur coming from with radiology. Make sure u really know what u want.

I'd rather not mainly because the new degree will eat up all of my time and there are clincal placements of 6 weeks each semester. So if I am studying at UTS even one subject a semester is going to own me, especially during clincal placements which is pretty much FT work without pay for six weeks which will keep me very busy.

Could you paste a link of the deferral form?

Because I can only find a form for Deferral of commencement and the online form for Leave of Absence.

Yeah, I know. the MedSci at UTS is lacking and the job prospects at the end are "Technical Assistant or Aide" and the salary sucks. Comparing the degrees with other similar degrees elsewhere... The subjects with UTS sucks. My degree is very very very broad and I know on completion of it - it will be really hard to get a job outside the two categorys I mentioned already unless I go on to postgrad. This way if I manage to transfer then I will be doing specialist degree and on completion I already have a job lined up for me because I'm currently working at a imaging place part time atm. So I'm pretty sure this is what I should/want to do
