I have a legal assessment due very soon, and the question involves assessing the effectiveness of legal and non legal measures in relation to consumers.

This would be no problem if i had my legal textbooks,!

Is anyone able to provide me with examples for legal and non - legal measures.
My mind is so rusty, and i don't remember what they are!
Can anyone please explain, thankyou.

-legislation (obviously) so talk about Sales Of Goods Act 1923 (NSW), Trade Practices Act 1974 (Cwlth), Fair Trading Act 1987
-Untied Nations General Assembly (which adopted comsumer guidelines in 1985)
-contracts
-ACCC
-Consumer, Trader and Tenancy Tribunal (talk about how it now accepts class actions)
-Department of Fair Trading

non legal measures:
-media
-NGO's
-choice magazine
