I've done it and it helped a lot

Currently doing it for 4u, but instead of in a book I'm using a google doc and just putting screenshots in (of question + their solution)
(it was too much effort last year to handwrite everything lmao but I did it for accell 2u 3u)

but yeah it's good because you can see a really general idea of where you keep going wrong (e.g. I keep getting hard vector proofs wrong)
also ig it gives you a sense of progression

ALSO you properly allow yourself to spend time looking at a solution and understanding where you went wrong

Basically.... DO IT DO IT DO IT but make sure you properly compare solutions (yours and theirs) and understand why where how what when where you went wrong
i highly recommend <3

I did this for my HSC and it helped me so much. Would definitely recommend noting all your mistakes, because a lot of the time the mistakes come from silly calculation errors or a lack of understanding of the content. The mistake book can help you to identify these types of mistakes so you can then improve for the next trial papers you do, then the actual HSC.
