I'd have to disagree. Gets the flair of the creative artistic frame of mind into adrenaline rushed action.
Indeed. Especially when you're listening to music of an interesting subject; lyrics make particularly good muses, sometimes.

That doesn't mean go listening to MCR and writing emo poems, please & thankyou.

Hear hear to the Jay Chou Music ... my iTunes is filled with all his songs :)

But thumbs down on the Flow Rida song. I've had a bad run in with that song at school because some girls were playing the first 10 seconds of the song over and over again for 75mins because they were practising a rountine for their dance. It really really pissed me off.
agreed.what the heck is apple bottom jeans?

Yeah, sometimes I also put my IPod on shuffle mode. You forget sometimes that the music is playing, and your mind is focused on the work. When the class was listening to music whilst doing maths q's in class, my maths teacher told the class that psychologists said that listening to music will affect our exam results, with factors such as environment conditions, lyrics of the music etc. Probably true...not sure.
Change the lyrics of your favourite song to make it related to the subject, record yourself and then play it on repeat. :)

I listen to:

The John Butler Trio
Gin Wigmore
Led Zeppelin
Radiohead
Guns N' Roses
Velvet Revolver
Bob Dylan
The Beatles

and more.

I cannot stand those singers. They are too slow for me. The pace of the songs are...

But I like The Beatles and Radiohead. They are the exceptions.

Yeah, I can't really concentrate with music on. So if I'm really buckling down or if I want to do something in a hurry, then I don't listen to music, but if I'm just mindlessly doing homework and already have other distractions then I do, just easy listening 60s and 70s stuff and random 80s pop songs

Anything acoustic is good for studying.

Studying is the only time when i lsten to acoustic music because when i'm on the bus, it makes me fall asleep :p
And when i'm at the gym, i tend to listen to loud, screamo stuff.]

Look up "punk goes acoustic" on limewire and there are load of great songs that have been transformed into acoustic covers.

:)

Acoustic is pretty good for when you're studying. Apparently anything classical with a steady beat and no lyrics is great but i haven't tried that :) btw, catherinet MCR is awesome :p
