Axe death mum Kim Patterson 'highly strung but no demon'

THE woman suspected of killing her daughter before taking her own life on Brisbane's Story Bridge was the mum "least likely'' to commit such a shocking crime, a friend has said.
Kim Patterson, 48, has left behind a grieving family searching for answers after apparently killing her 14-year-old daughter Sidonie Thompson on Wednesday.
As a shrine to Sidonie was created by teary-eyed schoolmates at Somerville House, in Brisbane, family friend Elly Van Acker said "Kim was no demon'', describing a highly strung woman devoted to the family she has now apparently destroyed.
"Some people would be hating her right now, but she must have just snapped," Ms Van Acker said.
Sidonie was found with slash wounds, believed to have been caused by an axe, in her bedroom early on Wednesday. Police suspect it was a murder-suicide.
"Knowing Kim, she's just snapped. I don't know why at 6.30 in the morning. She was definitely always highly strung, but she was so into working on herself,'' said Ms Van Acker, who was Sidonie's Year 1 teacher when the family was in London.
"And she just put all her time into the kids. It was all about the kids. Out of anybody that I know, (she) is the least likely person I'd ever expect to do anything like that because Kim adored her kids completely.''
Ms Patterson had met her husband, Peter Thompson, while backpacking in England. The pair married and had Sidonie and her brother, now 12, who was in the car when his mother jumped off the Story Bridge.
"I ended up being friends with Kim because I loved Sidonie so much,'' she said.
"She was one of my favourite, favourite kids I ever taught.''
Ms Van Acker said Mr Thompson, 54 who discovered his daughter's body at their Paddington home in Brisbane's inner-west was ``a really lovely guy'' and ``very successful''.
"They all were incredibly beautiful people,'' she said of the couple who returned to Australia about five years ago.
"I remember going shopping with her one day and she said she was pulling the pin after 10 years and she was dragging him (Peter) back to Australia and she pulled it off I was very impressed with her.''
Ms Van Acker said Ms Patterson touched base with her about a fortnight ago.
"Kim never looked better,'' she said. "She was following some diet that she reckoned changed her life.

"She had all her family on it and they were all eating according to their blood group. She was really happy, really content actually.''
Mr Thompson was a successful businessman who operated from home but had since retired.
In Brisbane, he was known for his hard work nearby at Rainworth State School, where his son is in his final year. P&C president Ric Cohen described Mr Thompson in a newsletter as "the man'' whose organisational skills and directions would be "sorely missed next year''.
Another friend, who didn't want to be named, described Ms Patterson as a "saint'' who would never hurt anyone.
"She was a beautiful person, she was loving and quiet,'' the friend said. "I had met Sidonie, she was beautiful, she was so angelic and so was Kim, they were so close.''
The friend, who lives in NSW, said she last spoke with Ms Patterson a couple of months ago on the phone but didn't notice anything unusual.
"Kim must have really upset about something, that's just so not like her,'' she said.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_type_diet

"The blood type diet is a diet advocated by Peter D'Adamo, a naturopathic physician,"

"Throughout his books D'Adamo cites the works of biochemists and glycobiologists who have researched blood groups, claiming or implying that their research supports this theory. Nevertheless, the consensus among dieticians, physicians, and scientists is that the theory is unsupported by scientific evidence"

i think it is pretty clear that this woman has developed a mental imbalance because of this ridiculous diet that has caused her to have a psychotic episode that culminated in her murdering her daughter and committing suicide

To be stupid enough to undertake that kind of diet or believe any of that rubbish in the first place is enough to warrant her being labelled as retarded.
