I had a general maths exam today and asked for an extra writing booklet to put my working for multiple choice in and any comments to myself for when I check over my exam at the end, but my teacher wouldn't give me one, saying I should do all my working in my answer booklets so it can be marked. I like doing my MC working on a separate sheet because otherwise I find the page too messy and confusing. I tried to explain that I wasn't going to have used it for the working of the free response questions but she didn't really listen and I couldn't be bothered wasting exam time arguing.

Is she allowed to do that, and would this happen in the HSC exam itself?

They will give you the booklets in the HSC.

If your doing rough working (I -always- do a tonne of working to make sure I'm doing the right thing that usually makes sense to me only) before writing it out neatly in the allowed section.

Though the prefer if you write in the same area (if your not right they can see your working straight away so they know if you were/not on the right track), the will not stop you from using extra books.

Just remember to hand them in!
