Alright...

The usual changes to scripting languages are changes in functions...

Fair enough. But usually old scripts from the previous version still work. Well, I tested this on 2 servers...

1. Linux Box
- Apache 1.3.x
- PHP5
- MySQL 4.0.20-Max

2. Windows Box
- Apache 1.3.x
- Apahce 2.x
- PHP5
- MySQL 4.0.20-Max

Both returned negative results, errors, and sometimes even failed to complete scripts...

I have to re-write everything I've written for PHP 4.x...

I can't say ASP was much better to me, but PHP3-PHP4 transition was smoother... I'm wondering what happened :S

Why don't you just not install PHP5 and leave your severs with PHP4? Problem solved.

Actually I much like PHP5..OOP is my favourite method of programming and the improved object handling is very nice.
