I now have 8 piercings, as of yesterday.

My tongue feels like a balloon.

Piercing

I have the idea of piercing my tongue but dont know how much of a pain it is...
Ive been hearing that it takes a week or two for it to disappear.
And that its swollen and fat for around 3 days.
Any body have any ideas about the tongue piercing?
From friends or experience?

Ive already pierced my ear several times but dont need any further ones. Theyre just like mosquito bites...
But i dont think a mosquito has bitten my tongue before...

Re: Piercing

The actual piercing doesn't hurt initially but it does swell unless you keep ice on it for at least 12 hours. I got mine done and kept ice on it as well as having slushies and ice cream all afternoon and it was only swollen for a day or so.

You just have to get used to having it in your mouth really. That was the most annoying thing for the first few weeks.

Re: Piercing

tongur piercings are supposed to be rlly bad for ur teeth because they chip away at the enamel - which could probably result in pain later in life

Re: Piercing

I got my tongue pierced on Sunday and honoestly, the clamps and barbell hurt but I barely felt the needle.

I've had it for almost four days now and the swelling's gone down heaps, I didn't eat anything except for ice and cold water after getting it done the first day. On Monday I could only manage fruit puree, mashed potato with gravy and soft serve. I was able to eat solid food again on Tuesday where I ate a hot cross bun, pasta and a doughnut :) Then yesterday I could eat pizza!

The pain is really a personal thing, and how much it hurts varies. I'm lucky because at my office job I can just sip on iced water all day to keep the swelling down.

The bar used to pierce your tongue initially is quite long and feels really awkward just after getting it done. It's difficult to eat solid foods because you're constantly scared of biting down on the bar which I'm sure will become less likely once a shorter bar is inserted.

It's a great piercing but not for the faint of heart, I barely ate for two days which absolutely killed an eating whore like me.

Hope this helps! :)

Ears x 4 (2 each in each bottom lobe).
No tattoo, but if i ever did get one it would be simple, or a white ink one :)
