say if i had a one dollar coin with the following properties:

a)what would be the chances of it landing on its side ie edge of the coin?
b)how would i work it out?

It highly depends on how you launch it. It also depends on the material in which the coin is made up of & the type of surface on which the coin is dropped.

When you drop it, the coin is not just going to land as it may bounce due the resisting force from the surface.

you could flip (or "launch") a coin a thousand times (or a thousand coins at once) and see...

wouldn't it just be zero since the coin will always have some non-zero angular momentum when it lands so it's always going to fall over?

Even with all the idealised conditions... the Queen's head has a larger area than the platypus design on the other side... so it still falls over

2. 92%Copper, 6%Aluminium, 2%Nickel
3.lets have a hard flat surface like concrete
4.what if it was sticky ie it doesn't bounce
