Why I tutor
I've always wanted to know why all aspects of our reality work the way they do, from my earliest thoughts and words right through to the present day. "Why?", "How?" and "What if ...?" are my most common ponderings and they give me the most joy when I can answer them. I find sharing and explaining answers, facts, insights, excitement, funny notions and intriguing questions to be the most natural and rewarding ways to work and live.

Why you should get a tutor like me
Strong relationships with a mentor are more strongly associated with positive change to attitudes, habits and behaviours than any other factor. I've seen how my passion and insight for what I impart create transformative and empowering experiences for my student that sets them up for long term success in their education.

How I tutor
I listen to my students' highest aspirations then map out a pathway to achieve them together. We build a relationship on trust and integrity as I challenge my students to think deeply and critically. I place their comprehension and development above any other outcome as I advocate for their interests. This means I strive for their development of independent learning skills and curiosity through Socratic questioning and motivational interviewing techniques. We work together for months or years as required and at the most intense pace they're capable of. They are encouraged to ask curious questions, as there is rarely something I cannot answer.

How you can benefit most from tutoring
The most enduring and powerful learning is deep, connected, and fuelled by good questions. My students learn most when they bring a list of "why" and "how" questions that can be answered by drawing on multiple topics and disciplines. They maintain their list of questions throughout all their classes and aim to be able to answer each clearly and confidently. You'll learn to feel when information is complete or unreliable and how to fill the gaps.

What I do
I tutor 1 or 2 hour lessons in any Maths, Chemistry, Physics or Biology subject one-on-one for students in undergraduate, VCE or secondary school. VCE maths includes Specialist, Mathematical Methods or Further Maths. I also cater to IB students, or any other national curriculum, whether enrolled or home-schooled. Students can ask questions ranging through any subject in any lesson. In rare circumstances when I don't know the answer to a question, I will follow up with an answer in the next lesson. I use Microsoft Onenote (available for free on any device) to share lessons which are recorded for search and playback at the student's convenience. Students can also post
resources and questions to the shared notebook, for review in future lessons.

What you need to do
Call or email to make a first appointment. We will discuss your goals and make a plan to fulfill them. Start keeping a list of unanswered questions during all classes that can be checked off when you're satisfied and confident of the answer. Work with me to review progress regularly and enjoy improved understanding, focus, calm and confidence. Phone: 0402757972. Email: Jeremy.Kindler@bravehq.com.au
