I have a related text essay due quite soon and I am using The Book Thief book (not movie) and Where the wild things are (also book and not movie).

I have to write an extended response to the following statement:
"One's sense of belonging is shaped more by the experience of not 'belonging' than 'not belonging'.

I have to evaluate the extent to which this statement reflects Liesel's time at the Hubermann's whilst also relating it to Max's experiences in Where The Wild Things Are.

Try deconstructing the question first and writing up an essay plan, for example, think about what kind of experiences one can have-spiritual, emotional, physical, permanent, transitory.... start defining key words of the question, it will help you formulate specific thesis to answer it firmly.
