Aren't they nearly the same thing?

For example, trying to improve reliability and validity means doing the same things? Right?
E.g. making sure that the test tube is at its original state (clean, dry, x and y)

Not sure about the below but I think it is correct
For something to be reliable it must be the "same" each time.
For something to be valid it must be the "same" each time.

naw

reliability is the consistency of results

validity is the the logical soundness of your procedure

i.e if you massively different results everytime you do it you have an unreliable experiment
if you have like 4 variables that change by themselves when trying to only test one, your experiment is kinda shit so its not valid

improving reliability is something like doing more trials and observing consistent results
improving validity is something like controlling variables effectively

Oh...

So,
Reliability is to make it overall more consistent even if it is reliability invalid.
Validity just means how can you make it better and more accurate.

Am I correct?

To add on to the above post.

Reliability: Make sure that there is nothing wrong with the expierment while doing it.
Validity: Make sure that the controls are kept on.

Reliability: If you are getting consistent results after multiple trials, your experiment is reliable.

Validity: If your method/set up fulfills your aim, then your experiment is valid (i.e. controlling all variables other than the one being tested.)

Therefore, an experiment could be reliable, but invalid if appropriate variables are not controlled/set up is dodgy

Note: Accuracy is somewhat dependent on the others, cause it is how close you are to the THEORETICAL result.
