hey peoples,

was wondering if any of you can suggest ways to improve reliabity and validity in acid-base titrations!!...

i know u can repeat the experiment several times ...to ensure the same results are obtained...

are there any other ways??

i have my titration practical tmr..so any help is appreciated =]

thanx!

As you said, the main improvement for reliability is to repeat the titration several times and get similar results.
For validity, you should clean the pipette and burette with the respective liquids you'll be pouring into each so that there is no dilution of other substances like water. In addition, you need to choose the right indicator so that your titration is valid, that is, you are able to correctly determine the equivalence point, e.g Use methyl orange indicator for a strong acid & weak base titration. Hope that helps.
