Im in year 11, I do 2Unit maths and for my half yearly exams I got 35%...
I feel I should drop to General Maths because people who got higher marks than me in the 40's+ dropped to General too. But most of the people that do General Maths do advanced English. Since I only do Standard English, would it be very bad for my ATAR and Uni to drop to General.

I would do better in General but I feel like even if I drop I will get scaled badly and particular Uni courses wouldn't consider me if I did General.

I don't know what I want to do in University yet, but an ATAR 78+ would be good.

My Subjects are:
-Woodwork
-Business Studies
-Engineering
-Standard English
-2U maths
-Physics (im dropping physics for year 12)

So I really need to decide whether or not to drop to General. thanks

I'd probably advise you to drop.

But if you are considering science/engineering degree etc it would be advisable for you to stick with 2 unit mathematics. But performing badly in it will have a significant impact on your ATAR as you are planning to do 10 units.

what's your rank in 2u maths? If it's not too bad than it might be the school's crazy high standards. If not, maybe you're studying wrong? Use a variety of textbooks when you're doing maths, don't stick to solely one textbook.
And i'm pree sure that unis don't have prerequisites anymore?
