That is disgusting. I do not find that funny at all and I'm sure if that was aimed at your relatives you would sick.
Not really. It just highlights the ridiculousness of the situation, as an American comedian wore a halloween costume of Steve Irwin, complete with stingray, before the episode was aired, and Trey and Matt sought out to respond to this and his death in their own way. Having Satan, the lord of all darkness and evil, point out that it's immoral and wrong just highlights the ridiculousness of it.

Come on guys it's just South Park and their humour. They make far worse jokes about other famous people and I don't see too much fuss about it, apart from Tom Criuse.

theres another reference to Steve Irwin later in that season, that I'm surprised hasn't triggered more response. They say "this kid will die quicker than Steve Irwin in a pool of sting rays"

Maybe it's because they didn't show a picture of him this time? (ha! the Representation of the Truth module was right after all) :p

If anyone did frontline: "A pub brawl in Manly is better [to report on] than a massacre of millions...provided that you have good vision"

It can often be quite intelligent in its satire.
the steve irwin thing was stupid...

but there are a few episodes that are quite intellectual like:

- the one where people come from the future...and people start discriminating against these "illegal aliens" mocking people who are against imigration of sth americans
- the one where the indian casinos give sars infected blankets to the sth park citizens...mocking the new americans who gave smallpox infected blankets to natives to kill them

Meh. Considering how soon it was after his death, i suppose some people may find it sacrilegious/blasphemous to basically make a mockery of him. But in my opinion, South Park has a reputation for 'bad' satire; its not the first time they've offended, and it won't be the last. So move on.
