is it true that if i apply for a uni interstate, my chances of being accepted into that uni are lower that students who come from that state?
like, are they more likely to accept a person from their own state than a person from another state?
i heard that you need to do exceptionally well, or achieve marks way above the cut off before even being considered. is this true?

As you mentioned in the title, it's just a myth.

However there are some exceptions. For example, the UMAT score needed to get an interview for UWA Medicine and Dental Science is slightly lower for local applicants.
