For the area of study, is it necessary that your supplementary texts be in a different medium to the prescribed text?

Does this mean that all three of the texts you analyse for your AoS essay must be in different media?

It's not necessary - but it's highly recommended. Purely because you want to show examiners that you have the ability to analyse a variety of texts.
