This could possibly be a stupid question, if so just ignore it....

But if you wanted to talk about confronting language as a technique, in an English essay, would it be possible to support this idea with a confronting quote?

For example, in Michael Gow's Away, Tom says "fucking miserable time"....or something along those lines.

Just wondering anyways...

Ummmm well im not 100% sure but I would say that it's okay to quote it. As long as you're not actually using language in your response lol

If in doubt, just censor it i.e. "I hope you have a f***ing miserable time"

My teacher said that is was okay if we were quoting from a text and the quote was relevant to a point that we were making, but not otherwise.

it is fine if it is in a quote
