Just wondering if the dial up number to telstra bigpond up here is the same to Sydney's .. it's just i'm wanting to use my Mum's internet connection (she's in Sydney), and wanted to know whether i'd be forking out for an STD call to use it (in this case i'd just use the stupid uni server!)

Just do a browse of their webpage, or email one of the people to get a local dial-up.

Some numbers however, will cost the same no matter where you call from, so it's a little hard for us to tell.

You should be right to use that in Newy. Pretty sure 0198 numbers are nation-wide to save those sort of hassles.

Oh thank goodness! i've been using it the last week without realising it (automatic connection)... and i realised the other day and was a bit flustered!
