hey! do we have to have all our textbooks by the 1st day of uni?? like the 'text' ones. surprisingly i have no recommended books just text ones

No, and for many subjects you dont need text books at all. For most of my subjects last year the lecturers just summarized the main points from the texts books in the lecture.

Sometimes lecturers say to wait until the first lecture because they may talk about the prescribed and recommended texts or if you need texts at all.
