Just a quickie...
What do all other Jets fans (yes I'm still pumped after gaining the "toilet seat" lol, great for Newcastle football I say) think of Con Constantine constantly rejecting third party sponsor deals?? Do you think that he's just doing it for the sake of pride ar is he just being an idiot and will lose more players (a-la Bridge and Durante) cause of it? Just wanted a quick opinion...
Well, Con Constantine is the guy who was solely responsible for keeping Mario Jardel. So, this is not new. He is pretty renowned for making decisions for the club to benefit himself and which are not based in the best interests of the club. But some may argue that if he owns the club, so he's entitled to.

Haha. Mario. Jardel.

EDIT: Newcastle should have kept Jardel.

Re: The Official A-League Thread.

Don't really care. He had a horrible V3, makes far too many mistakes. Prefer colosimo and musilaik.

Prediction for top 4

Sydney
Melbourne
Qld
CCM

Re: The Official A-League Thread.

I doubt Melbourne will be up there they havn't signed any new decent players, they still need a more reliable and attacking midfield, CCM will probly be up there again and i expect adelaide to come out strong again next year, QLD a maybe will have to see how they go in their off season, defensivley they need a couple of players. But yes Sydney will top the A-League next year, no other team has close to our mid and forward line up. sadly we are going to have win most games 4-3 as our defence sucks.

We have also signed Musalik, man do Newcastle look in a terrible position for next year, they will be battling Melbourne, Wellington and Perth for the woodern spoon.

good pointless fun for our fringe players

how was it finishing outside the top 4? we've never had the chance to do it.

Re: The Official A-League Thread.

So, Gold Coast and maybe Townsville hey?

Obviously Gold Coast always have the lifestyle card to throw at players, but im not so sure that will bring good talent.

Townsville is a whole other matter in itself.

Re: The Official A-League Thread.

Who knows, they all operate under the salary cap so in theory they should be able to recruit a decent team, but who wants to live in townsville ?

i guess fringe players of other clubs who want to start, and a few big names who dont give a toss as long as there on 500k a year.

Re: The Official A-League Thread.

What's it like to be Sydney's weired little brother that no-one likes?, everything you have done we did it first, you wish you were sydney just accept it. Besides at least we made the top 4, seems as if your V2 win was just a fluke, V1 = shit and V3 = shit, you guys have made one finals series ffs so shut up and get ready to get belted by Osaka

You've been in the finals 3 times and only have won one trophy? One out of a possible 6, some would say a poor conversion rate.

Melbourne on the other hand, two from two.

What more is there to say?

Re: The Official A-League Thread.

It's not really 2 from 2 at all.

Since your including the minor premiership, you would have to include the seasons where you didn't win it. a la 2/4

Re: The Official A-League Thread.

So what does making the finals mean if you don't win the championship? You may have finished 3rd, but it was still a trophyless season.

And two titles from a possible 6 is better than one title anyhow.

Re: The Official A-League Thread.

Team A has 1 title and finishes in the finals every year for 30 years

Team b has 1 title and has only finished in the finals once when they won it.

Exaggerated scenario but who is the more successful team
Team A
