Are we talking actual tables where you have say two columns, three rows, etc.?

The comments being made are a table as you described is the appropriate text type for a scientific report in some cases. So they are refering back to the skills.

Sure you will. Just make sure you highlight the key words like similarity, differences, criteria etc. Remember science is not double marked, just an occasional check mark.
