thoughts on taking 3 subjects every semester 2? 18 UOC instead of 24 (1 Viewer)

I get bored over super long breaks and I don't mind doing summer school. Also with law the work is quite stressful, so if I took just 3 courses next semester, is this a good/bad idea? Do many do it?

It doesn't hurt as long as you are still taking law courses otherwise you will really stuff up your programme. I am doing 18 UOC next semester because clerkship process is next semester

Also can I ask what degree are you combining with law? If you are doing Commerce or Economics, and you are doing an ASB course during summer school, you will be paying full price. All other degrees are normal rates

Gen eds are the best - trust me, when you get to 3rd year, a gen ed is liberating.

Also note that there are WAM requirements for overloading.

what do you mean? my timetable i planned for sem 2:

so i would have
- MMAN1300
- MINE1010 (online - iirc)
- MATH1241
- ENGG1400
- GENS4008 (some nuclear something that looks interesting)

since my timetable is pretty much empty i thought i would take this opportunity to do something rather than be over flooded with work in later years

I have no intention of going to uni on spending 4 hours getting to uni on thursday for 2 hours of lectures. Unfortunately i will have to do this on Friday so i plan to get up early and just study in the library in the morning

You can't just overload like that. You need to apply to overload, and I think in first year, it's either a 75+ WAM or 80+ WAM (I can't remember) that you need to meet in order to be accepted to overload. It gets lower in 2nd and later years.

If you enrol into GENS4008 now, you will have to ask the Mech School to enrol you into MMAN1300 (assuming you are allowed to overload), and by then, it's possible that it could fill up.

Well when Squar3root can't enrol into MMAN1300 and it fills up, I think he would have wished I told him to hold off enrolling into GENS4008.

I can't enroll into either MMAN1300 and GENS4008 right now because mman1300 is on hold and 4008 clashes with 1241. ill enroll into mman1300 first and see what the mech office says and then enroll into 4008 if they let me

I don't think i have made 80 WAM so ill see what they say but since i have not a lot of contact hours now i rather do it now than have packed days like i did in semester 1
