You need to be more specific... there are many different markets...and total could be anything - total market share? total market size? total market growth?


You really need to understand the idea of a market...

A market is essentially any similar group of people (characterised by demographic, geographic,psychographic & behaviour...) that all take part in a common activity


i.e. Consumer Market - everybody that purchases goods and services
Share Market - everybody that invests in business equities
Labour Market - everybody that can provide an organisation with physical or
mental skill

Total market means the whole number of participants in the market... For example - in the Consumer market; everyone buys things, but there are millions of businesses providing goods or services for this market... so not everyone purchases through the same business - each business has a SHARE of the total market.......meaning an ammount (share) of the people go through a particular business....

Thanks for the meaning and general understanding of total market , I forgot to phrase specifically what I was asking for sorry !!!!! >< Just total market approach

Total market & market segmentation in marketing terms /area ,
{ are both use to identify the target market } there both pretty similar
I just want to know some of the differences between each .
So far I got the meaning from total market and market segmentation , I want a in depth meaning of total market , mines too brief.
