I only watch that when I am extremely bored and yes that's pretty much what the majority of Dragonball Z consists of.

ALMOST 80,000 university hopefuls are chasing more places than there are available for this year's intake.

Despite 600 new places at universities, only 65,575 offers will be made.

An agonising wait lies ahead for many as they await the results in special early-edition copies of The Daily Telegraph tonight.

But for some, the offer of a university place has already been made during early and preliminary rounds.

More than 5000 have already been told they have secured a position.

The University Admissions Centre will also publish the results online tonight.

The majority of applicants are expected to find out their results through the website or in The Daily Telegraph rather than endure another restless night's sleep for the official letter in the mail.

UAC managing director Andrew Stanton said students should not despair if they did not receive an offer in the first round.

"If you don't receive an offer in the main round, it's worth remembering there are other options," he said.

"Offers will also be made in the late round on January 31 and the final round on February 7.

"Last year more than 9000 offers were made in these offer rounds - so there is still a chance that you could be made an offer."

One teenager who is anxiously awaiting the results is 18-year-old Mathew Gilliland of Eastwood.

He is eager to hit the books again and immerse himself in the university lifestyle.

"I am nervous. I am going to try to spend as much time with my friends tomorrow as possible," he said.

So enthusiastic is Mathew about university, he is already planning further study after he completes his first course.

He has applied for a Bachelor of Arts (Hons), a four-year course condensed into three, which he is hoping to use to move into a medicine degree.

"I want to stay at university as long as possible," he said.

"I am sick of not studying. I am looking forward to the change in culture. I have friends there now and their lifestyle and independence appeals to me."

Students who receive a main round offer today are advised to accept immediately.

Course preferences can be made until next Tuesday and late round offers will be made on January 31.

If you don't receive an offer, your preferences will automatically be considered again in later offers.

UAC expects there will be vacancies in at least 670 commonwealth-supported courses and 350 in domestic fee-paying subjects.

Applicants can find out results by picking up early copies of The Daily Telegraph from 9pm tonight.

There's 4.5 hours before the release. If you look at that list yourself you may have a minute or two to get a paper before the release.

Re: UAC Main Offers on 17/1 at 9pm (Sydney time)

I used GCE A-levels for admission. Since I am local non-year 12 student, UAC helps me convert my grades into UAI. Plus I also supplied ABRSM grade 8 piano exam (A Professional Exam in the UK) and the certificate of GCE to UWS directly so that they help me pass English proficiency and course assessment.

At least I got 69, but may be even higher due to ABRSM exam. Do you think that's enough? If my UAI is above the cut-off, I am eligible to entry the course

My first preference at UWS is Applied Science (Environmental health) Whose cut-off is only 60.00. So I should get in as well.
