In 2005, from my $540, I've attended several Union meetings that were fully catered by the Venue Collection, with my transport home by taxi provided (at $50 a hit). Even though I've made about as much use of the Union as a student could possibly do, I'm STILL unable to get as much value out of it as I put in.

do i have to be a union member to play sport or be part of uni games? (im going to unsw)

I don't think so, but the fees you pay may be higher. But probably if you're only going to do one or two sports it may be cheaper not to be a member, although going to the uni games, you may want to be.
Although it seems that everyone still has to pay sem 1 union fees, so just see how it goes.

oh yeh, im so keen to exercise my right not to pay union fees that i keep forgetting i gotta pay em in semester one.
