Mass -
kg (kilogram)
Velocity -
ms-1 (metres per second)
Momentum -
kgms-1 or Ns (there is no -1 after s)
Force -
N (Newton)
Time -
s (seconds)
Energy -
J (Joule)

So if a question asks, what is the acceleration of an object if it travels from rest to 86.4 kms-1 in 10 seconds ?

Well most importantly convert kms-1 into ms-1.
So 86.4 kms-1 is actually 24ms-1.

INCORRECT ANSWER

a= v-u/t = 86.4-0/10=8.64 ms-2

CORRECT ANSWER

a= v-u/t = 24-0/10=2.4 ms-2
