Hey guys!

I'm just cramming for my chem trials tomorrow, and i just suddenly remembered i have no idea how to do ppm! Questions always ask me to give it in parts per million, and i never understand whether it's in grams/kg/moles or what! Can someone please help me?? I'm totally freaking out!

Thanks everyone!

I’m really sorry if this is a bad explanation, I’m a bad explainer. Anyhow, ppm you always have the same measurement on either side, you don’t get moles by the way its usually in grams, kilograms, mililitres and litres and then theres the mg etc.... So for example you could have 1grams * 106 grams. Where 106 grams is equivalent to 1000kg. It like that. Nothing too hard to learn quickly.

N/A
1 ppm = 1 mg/kg = 1 mg/L (assuming density = 1 gmL-1)
