I saw them setting up the textbook-buying stand inside the business building this afternoon, all those shiny new expensive textbooks!

Does it really matter about the editions? Cause i can editions one edition earlier than that on the booklist and was wondering if is worth get the one of the list.

Talk to your subject co-ordinator and ask. For our subjects I have a feeling they want the new editions because of the updated information that's been added since last time.

what a crock of shit seriously, a few extra paragraphs justifies buying a new book when i can borrow LAST years version from my gf's sister? I'm gonna suss it out with the lecturers

Well, sometimes entire systems of thought are overthrown, or subject content is removed etc. Lecturers have many different reasons for changing, but just as often the reason is simply "staying abreast of the current knowledge". By all means check it out with your lecturer. :)
