hi everyone.
I'm currently studying 1st year nursing at bankstown and thinking of transferring campus's. I was wondering which is the biggest campus, whats closest to facilities, where has close accomodation, what kind of social activities are on the campus... etc.

Bankstown is an awesome campus. A few things I've found while studying there are:
Its nursing dominated. It's pretty small. You get there and have the sad realisation that you are stuck in the bush miles from civilisation. It has lots of nice gardens and grassy areas to chill out in. The drink machine upstairs takes a 10% tip out of your change for dispensing drinks. The uni cafes overpriced food has a fifty fifty chance of giving you food poisoning. There is no pub. There are lots of great places to meet interesting folks like waiting to use the kitchen on the comfy chairs downstairs, during scattagories in the uni cafe or in the nice gardens outside. The Library has a bunch of rooms you can book to gather in. Theres a secret computer lab down the back of the uni that i insist hasn't been discovered by most people. The student union is really supportive though we have a serious lack of clubbage, unless your into joining the socialists. Theres a queer room and a womyns room. If your male your pretty damn lucky as theres a serious gender inequality, this is probably to do with the nursing dominence. The closest pub is a bikie bar has its own smoke atmosphere that lingers above your head, if you eat here you are almost guarenteed food poisoning. Its about a 30 min walk from Panania train station and buses come from Bankstown every hour. The ads for accomodation on the noticeboards are mainly weirdo old people try to scam you out your money for overpriced rooms with facilities that don't even exist. There is a good cheap chinese restaurant across the road that doesn't give you food poisoning. The uni tends to have a few social things happen, musos in the cafe, BBQs, bake stalls and scattagories.
Overall its the chilled out atmosphere that makes bankstown good. People are generally friendly and laid back.

If anyone could share their experiences at other campus's it would be muchly appreciated.

Thanks.

Every campus that I've been to is incredibly boring. You have to make your own fun. But in saying that, I'm glad the fees I'm paying arent paying for people to have cheap drinks at the uni bar or for them to build rubbish like a Womens room, or queer space. What a load of bullshit. VSU was the best thing to ever happen to universities.
