Hey guys, this issue has been bugging me for quite a while and since uni is starting soon, your opinion will greatly help me :)

So I currently have a laptop and an iPad. I'm not really sure which one to use for lectures and tutes. When I say 'laptop', I'm not referring to the ones I have at home, but the ones the school gave us - those Thinkpads with the small screens (the blue coloured ones). I'm steering away from bringing the ones I have at home as they're too heavy to carry around etc.

I'm just wondering whether or not people will actually care which laptop we bring/use, because I know the Thinkpad is cheap and not aesthetically pleasing etc., but I've been using it throughout my high school senior years and I type really fast with it while feeling organised with typing up notes. For the iPad, I might still need to get used to typing and stuff...However, do you think people will get annoyed with the loud typing of the keyboard on the laptop?

I will probably get another laptop for Uni in the future, my mum's saying she will get me one but she already bought me a lot of stuff for me after HSC as rewards and I just want to save up and buy it myself.

Hopefully this issue will resolve before Uni starts haha. Thanks for your suggestions/input in advance :D

P.S: I'm doing an Education degree so I won't really need to draw graphs etc., plus I'm using the laptop/iPad for the sole purpose of typing up notes.

Just use the Thinkpad if you really need to use a laptop. Anyone who gives a shit what you're using is probably not someone you want to be associated with anyway. The sole purpose you're using it for is typing up notes so it's far more efficient for you to use the Thinkpad than the iPad.

more content will stick to your head with pen and paper, next to no distractions and you are going to be writing in the exam not typing

You cant go wrong with either - both are equally distracting.

In all seriousness, pen and paper is the best/easiest I think.

Pen and paper is equally distracting as a laptop because you can go on facebook on your pen and look at porn on your paper
