so, like, any fans?

which period d'ya like? early funny ones? the bergman-esque dramas?
seen melinda & melinda? any good?
reckon he's jumped the shark or not? (granted, his latest film match point was unanimously well-received at cannes last month)

WELL?!?

my rankings:

1. manhattan
2. husbands and wives
3. annie hall
4. the purple rose of cairo
5. crimes and misdemeanors
6. love and death
7. manhattan murder mystery
8. zelig
9. the curse of the jade scorpion
10. sleeper
11. broadway danny rose
12. small time crooks

my ratings might be a little whack compared with everyone elses, but his films are fairly personal for the most part, so everyone's gonna connect with his films to varying extents.

"not my brain! that's my second favorite organ"

"don't knock masturbation; it's sex with someone i love"

"you know a lot of geniuses. you know, you should meet some stupid people once in a while; you know, you could learn something."

etc.

3. Everybody Says I Love You
4. The Purple Rose of Cairo
5. Annie Hall

I've only seen those 5.. Annie Hall first, which I have to say I for some reason didn't like at all, but the other 4 are great.

duuuude, watch annie hall again. you obviously weren't payin' attention first time round. ;)

good to see you rate manhattan murder mystery. some criticise it for being too lightweight, but i reckon it's one of his most purely enjoyable films.
