Youth Allowance - Dropping Subjects. (1 Viewer)

Hay guys,

I am currently studying 3 subjects atm and the finals are coming up soon and I was wondering if I drop a subject just before the last date (week13) will I still receive youth allowance or will the payments stop until university starts again?

I think you may not receive youth allowance because you'll only be a part time student with 2 units, even though you've been doing 3 units for most of the semester. Why would you drop one in the last week though?? I'm pretty sure all universities have a period where you can withdraw from a unit without failing, and that's definitely passed by now. Whether you drop the unit or complete it with crap marks, you'd still get a fail regardless, right?

You need to maintain 3 units per semester to qualify for youth allowance.

Most uni's WILL NOT let you drop a subject this late. Even then why would you. You get youth allowance over the summer if you maintain 3 units this semester so don't be dumb.
